Administration and Management of Network Systems

Administration and Management of Network Systems focuses on installing, configuring, maintaining, and updating computer hardware and software in a networked environment. Competitors work with essential equipment such as routers, switches, and servers and must complete tasks according to system-specific criteria across platforms including Linux, Windows, pfSense, and VyOS.

All computers used in the competition are virtual machines running in Hyper-V. This skill requires proficiency in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system optimisation to ensure secure, efficient network operations. Attention to detail, adherence to best practices, and effective use of the provided resources are key to success.

Competition Rules set the overall framework and regulations that apply to all skills competitions.

Charter of Judges provides instructions on the judging procedure and use of the Assessment Framework.

The Technical Description explains the competition structure, required skills, materials and equipment, and assessment areas. It helps competitors prepare for Abilympics Helsinki 2027.

The Abilympics Metz 2023 Pre-task Assignment may be used for practice. It does not describe the 2027 competition task or assessment requirements.
